Vijay Setupati and Ramya Nambeesan played the lead roles in 'Pizza' directed by Karthik Subbaraju. The film rang the Box Office like any other film never before and proved a commercial hit film with highest revenues. Not only that the film is getting compliments as a good film too. With this film Karthik Subbaraju turned the most-wanted director in Kollywood.

Suresh Kondeti bagged the Telugu dubbing rights of this film at a fancy rate. Tammareddy Bharadwaja is presenting film in the name of Charita Chitra. A top Kannada producer bagged the remake rights at a fancy rate. Several Malayalam producers are still competing for the film.

Recently, the '10th Chennai International Film Festival' was held on a grand scale and several films were screened from various countries. Over 160 films from 57 countries were screened. Exclusively from Tamil film industry 12 films too competed in it and many films bagged awards too. Of them Karthik Subbaraju bagged the special jury award. The award was presented through the hands of Amitabh Bachchan to Karthik Subbaraju.

Later, Karthik Subbaraju says, 'I am very happy for bagging an award, that too through the hands of Amitabh. Likewise, our film was watched by Rajanikant yesterday and complimented me over phone. He said, the film is 'Excellent'. That compliment is an experience which I can never forget in my lifetime.’ The film had created a record with the sale of the remake rights in Kannada, and in Hindi and Telugu for dubbing rights, at a fancy rate. It had collected more than the budget that was spent on the film with these three rights and still Malayalam is competing. No film in the Indian film industry had got such a business. It is a rare first record.
