Renowned music composer AR Rahman was admitted to the hospital yesterday after experiencing chest pain. Doctors later diagnosed the issue as dehydration, and he was subsequently discharged.

Meanwhile, his estranged wife, Saira Rahman, wished him a quick recovery. She clarified that while they are separated, they are not divorced and urged the media not to refer to her as his "ex-wife."

In a statement through her lawyers, Saira said, “AR is in my prayers. I stand by him during this difficult time as I also recover from surgery. We appreciate the love and support from fans and well-wishers.”

She also shared an audio message, saying, “I wish him a speedy recovery. I heard he had chest pain and underwent an angiography. By Allah’s grace, he is fine now. We are not officially divorced, just separated due to my health issues over the past two years. I didn't want to burden him with stress.”

She further requested, “Please, I ask the media not to call me his ex-wife. Though we are separated, my prayers remain with him.”

AR Rahman and Saira Rahman announced their separation on November 19, 2024, after 29 years of marriage.
