PM asks BJP MLAs, MPs not to say too much about ‘public issues’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his party MLAs in all the States/UTs as well as Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to be careful in airing their views while commenting about ‘public issues’.

Of late, the country has been witnessing a (bad) spell of child-rape and molestation incidents, some of which involved BJP lawmakers and functionaries, much to the huge embarrassment of the party’s high command including the Prime Minister and party president Amit Shah.  Opposition parties have been highly critical of opinion expressed by BJP leaders and functionaries of late in the above-said criminal acts.

Talking via ‘video conferencing mode’ on his ‘NamoApp’, the Prime Minister asked the lawmakers to refrain from making meaningless comments.  “By continuing with our mistakes, we are only providing fodder to the print and television media,” he said and asked them not to behave like ‘social scientists’ or ‘research workers’ searching for appropriate words while speaking to the media.

“Whatever might be the issue, the opinion expressed by mistake by some of us are blown out of proportions.  We don’t bother about it and continue to feed the press with our views which brings bad name not only to the party but also to the Govt. at the Centre.  Let the media do its work and let’s stop airing meaningless comments and observations from now onwards,” the Prime Minister said.
