In a horrible incident yesterday, a 19-year old Dalit woman belonging to Chandpa in UP’s Hathras district, was gangraped by four upper caste men, and the woman died in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital creating a nationwide outrage and protests at places in Delhi and UP. The victim had major injuries to her spinal cord and her tongue was cut due to strangulation.

Amidst huge protests and people criticising the Yogi Adityanath government for its inability to control crimes against women, PM Narendra Modi had yesterday tweeted on the demise of a Kuwait leader "My heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait. In this moment of grief our thoughts are with the Al-Sabah family and the people of the State of Kuwait."

Criticising Modi for not even tweeting on the UP incident, Actress and politician Divya Spandana who's known for her roles in movies like Varanam Aayiram tweeted slamming the PM "what about the woman who died today, the one who was brutally raped Modi ji? We don't expect you condemn or pay your condolences. The trolls you follow from your handle who give rape & death threats to women everyday, is proof of your respect, empathy & compassion for women."
