PM to inaugurate brand-new HQ of the BJP in New Delhi on Sunday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to inaugurate on Sunday (18th February) the newly constructed headquarters of the ruling BJP in New Delhi.

The BJP’s headquarters is situated in Ashoka Road in the national capital.  During the erstwhile tenure of the Congress-led UPA at the Centre from 2004-14, lands were allotted to various political parties for construction of their new headquarters. The BJP was allotted land at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, which is around 5 KM away from its present headquarters at Ashoka Road, where the construction took place.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of the party’s new headquarters in August, 2016. The construction of the premises, which has two buildings of 3-storey and 7-stories each and with many hi-tech facilities, has now been completed. Besides the Prime Ministers, senior party leaders, Union Cabinet Ministers and party president Amit Shah are to take part at the event.

A park has been set up in between the buildings which have a Lotus-shaped small pond, resembling the party’s symbol. Rooms and chambers for party president, the party’s leader in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been set up separately. Two seminar halls with seating capacities of 450 and 150 have also been constructed.
