Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged BJP workers and cadres in Karnataka to caution and save people from the ‘caste’ lollipop offered to the people ahead of Assembly polls in the State to be held on 12th May.

Modi addressed party workers in Karnataka via video-conferencing mode yesterday prior to his departure to China on a 2-day official visit.  “BJP has a trio of projects for the State’s development: Growth, speedy growth and all-round growth ought to our ‘motto’ as we seek people’s votes to give them a viable Govt. in the State.  All our objectives should be to achieve growth in all spheres of life around us.

“Even as we work for growth, Congress is attempting to make ‘caste’ as the main thing.  It is our duty and responsibility to caution and save people from ‘eating’ the ‘caste lollipop’ offered by the Congress which attempts to take advantage of the caste divisions in society.  We should never allow it to succeed.

“Contrary to pre-poll surveys, Karnataka won’t have a hung Assembly and people would give a convincing victory to the BJP.  We can implement developmental projects only if we win by a majority of our own.  All cadres should work keeping this in mind,” the prime-minister said.
