The horrifying gang rape in Pollachi has left everyone stunned as the video of the cruelty meted out to the helpless girl has gone viral. Though the four men accused of the crime Thirunavukkarasu, Sabarirajan, Vasanthakumar and Satheesh are booked under the Goondas Act and are in custody there has been widespread demand to bring all those involved to justice including top politicians.

The DGP T.K. Rajendran on Tuesday afternoon announced that the case would be handed over to the Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CBCID). However the Tamil Nadu government late evening had decided to call in the CBI which has been welcomed by many on social media.
