A great shame for Pollachi and Tamil Nadu has occurred as a shocking video of a teenage girl being gang-raped by her friend Sabarirajan and his accomplices including mastermind Thirnavukkarasu, T. Vasanthakumar and N. Sathish. The girl who had trustingly gone outing with her lover is stunned to see the others wanting to destroy her and begs them to leave her but her cries fall on deaf ears.

Based on the girl's complaint the police have arrested Thirunavukkarasu and his the other three and according to reports there are 40 such videos with the police but unconfirmed sources suggest that there are about 1200 videos and more than 200 women have been ravaged in the area. It is said that the gang befriend young women on social media and go to the extent of making her believe in them by getting an elderly woman to pose as their mother. Once the trust is gained they raped and video graphed the girls and use it to blackmail them to extort huge money.

While hundreds of women have remained silent and suffered the nineteen year old girl found the courage to lodge the police complaint on February 12th based on which Sabarirajan and the others were arrested. Ironically the girl's brother was attacked by four men forcing him to withdraw the complaint but he stood firm and those four were also arrested. Thirunavukkarasu who went absconding was finally nabbed when he came to his hometown Makkinampatti. It is said that some cops and politicians are trying to protect the accused but whether they are brought to justice will only be known in the future.

Kollywood celebrities including G. V. Prakash, Arunraja Kamaraj and Chinmayi have taken to social media to condemn the heartless perpetrators.
