Ponnar feels Kamal has insulted Tamils by launching party in Kejriwal’s presence

Union Road Transport Minister Pon Radhakrishnan has stated that actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has heaped huge humiliation on Tamils by launching his political outfit on 21st February in the presence of Delhi chief-ministe Arvind Kejriwal who had no knowledge about Tamil Nadu and Tamils.

Kamal launched his political outfit ‘Makkal Needhi Maiyyam’ at a public meeting in Othakkadai in Madurai yesterday in the presence of Delhi chief-minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Tamil Nadu convener Somnath Bharathi.  Kamal’s public meeting drew huge crowds but political analysts are skeptical about the impact he would be having during elections in the State.

Speaking to newsmen at Villupuram, Ponnar said “Kamal Haasan has insulted Tamils and Tamil Nadu by launching his party in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal who has ‘nil’ knowledge about Tamil Nadu, Tamils and their culture/tradition.  People would make Kamal realize the future of such party, which has been inaugurated with someone who has no regards for Tamil Nadu or for Tamils,” he remarked.

On another note, Ponnar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stature has been going up in the State.  “The bJP has also been registering steady growth which would be revealed during the time of next elections,” he said and added that arrangements are being done to welcome the Prime Minister who is visiting the State on Saturday (24th February).
