It is common knowledge that the legendary director Mani Ratnam is working on his dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan'. We already broke to you that the team has planned the promotional campaign on a grand scale. Now, the latest is that the franchise's promotion works are to kickstart with a teaser launch event.

'Ponniyin Selvan' is historical fiction based on a book of the same name by the renowned author Kalki. The epic period drama revolves around the throne of the Chola dynasty and the conspiracy surrounding it. The main part of the story is set in and around the Chola empire's capital Thanjavur. So, the makers of 'Ponniyin Selvan' have decided to organise a grand teaser launch event at the prestigious Thanjavur temple.

An official announcement is expected soon and the production house has also planned for a world tour post the teaser launch to promote 'Ponniyin Selvan'. A separate music launch event is likely to happen at a foreign location. Isai Puyal AR Rahman has composed the music and Ravi Varman has handled the visuals for the magnum opus project.
