The biggest multistarrer ever in Tamil cinema history was assembled by the one and only Mani Ratnam to bring to life on the big screen Kalki's epic novel 'Ponniyin Selvan'.  The teaser released a few months back gave a glimpse of the grandeur and the scale of the legendary director's vision. The trailer of 'Ponniyin Selvan' has just landed aptly unveiled by Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan the two biggest legendary actors Tamil cinema has ever produced.  The three-minute twenty-three seconds visual splendor is enhanced by Kamal Haasan's baritone voice-over that takes the viewer a thousand years back.  Kalki's content then takes over through the masterful chaperoning of Mani Ratnam who has filled every frame with beauty, authenticity and above all story. The 'Ponniyin Selvan' trailer introduces the five principle characters Vikram as Adita Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Raja Raja Cholan, Karthi as Vandhiyadevan, Trisha as Kundavai and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandhini.  The tensions between each character is well set up in cut that hooks even those who have read the epic novel.

A.R. Rahman's music score brings, Ravi Varman's frames and Thotta Tharani's production design are breathtaking, to say the least.  The fact that Lyca Productions pumped in the highest-ever budget for a Tamil film is pretty evident in the world-class imagery.  On the whole, the review of the 'Ponniyin Selvan' trailer, in a nutshell, is that it is an instant sell and will ensure an epic opening at the box office come September 30th.

'Ponniyin Selvan' stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R Parthiban.
