We already know that Tamil cinema is lingering for an epic clash on Pongal 2023 as Thalapathy Vijay starrer 'Varisu' and Ajith Kumar starrer 'Thunivu' are confirmed to lock horns at the box office after eight years. Meanwhile, Tollywood is also gearing up for a big bash on Sankranti 2023.

'Baahubali' star Prabhas starrer mythological drama 'Adipurush' based on Ramayana, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja starrer 'Waltair Veerayya' and Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer 'Veera Simha Reddy' were initially announced to hit the screens on Sankranti 2023. The hot buzz is that one of these films has been postponed now.

The latest reports suggest that Prabhas' Pan-Indian film 'Adipurush' is backing off from the Pongal race. As per sources, the movie is moving to a Summer 2023 release, most probably on Sri Rama Navami week (April 10). Adipurush might possibly clash with director Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'. It is being said that this film is delayed due to heavy VFX work.
