Prakash Raj heads for crushing defeat

Prakash Raj, who has contested from Karnataka's Bengaluru Central seat, may not secure more than 20,000 seats. His Congress rival is way ahead at the time of writing this news.
The multi-lingual actor, who stepped into politics because of the murder of his friend and activist Gauri Lankesh, left the counting centre early on as soon as he was told that he was trailing by a huge margin.
A vociferous critic of Narendra Modi and BJP, Prakash Raj may have failed because of lack of resources as well as his tendency to pursue negative politics against the Prime Minister. Karnataka is the only South Indian state where BJP is the most popular party. In such a State, he dared to target Modi, who is more popular than any other leader.
