Prasanna is one of the young heroes who made his debut through Maniratnam’s Madras Talkies. His maiden film Five Star directed by Susi Ganesan and produced by Maniratnam went very well with the audience.

Prasanna chose his subsequent films with caution and followed it up with stellar performances in movies including Azhagiya Theeyae, Kanda Naal Muthal and Kasthoori Maan.

He has managed to establish himself as an actor who can perform meticulously and this he has proved very early in his career.

In his forthcoming Cheena Thana, he takes to comedy. In this remake of the Malayalam hit CID Moosa, Prasanna plays the role enacted by Dileep.

Also in the pipeline is Manjal Veyyil. He is cast opposite Sandhya in the movie.
