Though Premji Amaran, who has made everyone sit up and watch by his lovable performance in ‘Chennai 600028’ has been saying that he is not interested in acting, chances keep coming his way. Following ‘Santhosh Subramaniyam’ and ‘Saroja’, he is acting in an important role in ‘Thozhaa’, produced by Arovana Films. Interestingly, he also has a duet in ‘Thozha’.

Premji accepted to act in the film, as it has the ‘team’ members of ‘Chennai 600028’ viz. Nitin Satya, Premji Amaren, Ajay Raj and ‘Vasanth & Co.’ Vijay. Moreover, it is Premji, who scores music for the film. “Who will say no to such an offer?” asks Premji.

Sahitya, Jennifer, Lakshana and Soumya are the four heroines who will be making their debut with ‘Thozha’. The rest of the cast includes ‘Vennira Aadai’ Murthy, ‘Kavithalaya’ Krishnan, ‘Crane’ Manohar and others.

Premji has composed four songs for the film, which are already on air in many of the radio FM channels. In tune with the current trend of re-mix numbers, one of the songs in the film is a re-mix of the ‘Oru Naayagan...’ number from K. Bhagyaraj’s old hit ‘Dhaavani Kanavugal’.

‘Thozha’ is the debutant venture for N. Sundareswaran, who had worked with the likes of K. Balachander, Sundar K. Vijayan, and ‘Yaar’ Kannan. Sundareswaran says that the story of ‘Thozha’ emphasizes the significance of friendship, which towers above all other relationships and bonding.

Gangai Amaren, Snehan and Premji himself are the lyric writers while P. Dhana is the cinematographer. Sai Suresh takes care of editing while Ajay Raj has choreographed the dance movements.

‘Thozha’, which has got ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board, is ready for release. The unit is waiting for the examinations to be completed.
