President Ram Nath Kovind today had special words of appreciation for AR Rahman, who was on Thursday conferred two National Awards for 'Kaatru Veliyadai' (Best Music Director) and 'MOM' (Best Background Score).  

"And let us not forget that @arrahman – who has won the National Award again – made an early impression even among those who did not understand the Tamil words of the songs, but were nevertheless enchanted by his music," the President tweeted.

Rahman was one of the few awardees to receive the National Awards directly from the President at today's 65th National Awards function.  Note that Rahman is now the only composer who has got six national awards in total.  He has beaten Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, who has five to his credit!
