Today, Prince Harry announced his arrival back in the UK, bearing the news of his father, King Charles III's cancer diagnosis. This comes after Buckingham Palace announced it on Monday.

Harry arrived in London from California, where he has had strained relations with his family since stepping back from royal duties with his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Tensions have carried over, too, despite the short visit for Charles' coronation last year.

Photographed at Clarence House on arrival, Harry's return has sparked speculation of a rapprochement. But he will not meet with his brother, Prince William.

The nation was shocked by the news that Charles had cancer while treating an enlarged prostate. But still, Meghan and their children did not travel to accompany Harry, despite personal calls made to family members.

There had been no indication where Harry would be staying, but during his past visits to the UK, he has frequently used a London hotel. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the UK said that he is grateful for the early diagnosis.

The royal family's relationships are intensely tense, especially following the interview with Oprah Winfrey by Harry and Meghan and the publication of a memoir by Harry saying that William had physically attacked him.

Harry's return during Charles' health emergency is perhaps an indication of reconciliation with his family. At the coronation of Charles, the last time they were all together, he had not joined the family in waving from the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The family is circling around Charles, with Camilla Queen continuing engagements and Prince William standing in for his wife Catherine, who has gone to recover from surgery.
