With Coronavirus impacting everyone including the film industry, there has been a shutdown effected everywhere. Tamil film industry went on a lockdown last month, with theatres getting closed and shootings getting cancelled.

This had resulted in a huge loss for everyone involved, as theatres lost revenues, producers who had planned releases are forced to postpone, and released movies faced unprecedented losses due to abrupt removal from theatres.

Now, producer J Sathish Kumar of JSK films has tweeted a request to stars, financiers, producers, music directors and theatre owners. He tweeted a note, captioning it "I kindly request the following on behalf of the entire tamil film industry during this time of crisis and for the welfare of our industry. Lets join hands and support ourselves. Thank you ??". He requested all the Heroes/Heroines, Directors, Music Directors and Cinematographers to cut down their salaries by 30% for all the ongoing projects,  financiers to waive off entire interest amount for 3 months, Theatre owners and Distributors to prioritise the release of small films and rerelease of films that were running prior to this lockdown.
