The fallout between India and China after the latter's offensive at the Galwan valley for the past several weeks has forced the government to ban many Chinese products and digital apps.  Already Tik Tok and other 58 apps were banned earlier and today the government has banned 118 apps including the popular PUBG game played by crores of people including small children.

There have been strong voices against PUBG by social activists that the game is detrimental to the health of those playing and also poses threats to their physical health too due to spending long hours in an immovable position.

Addiction to PUBG has been so severe that many have also committed suicide when parents interrupt the game or when they lose.  The centre has banned the apps and games stating that they are "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, Security of State and Public Order".
