The online battle royale PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds aka PUBG has been making the headlines the last few weeks after the impact of the game, particularly on youngsters, led to adverse effects. A ban on the game has even been implemented in the state of Gujarat, with dozens of people from Rajkot and Ahmedabad being arrested for playing the battle royale despite the ban.

Users have now taken to Twitter to complain about the game limiting their time, claiming that they weren’t being allowed to play more than 6 hours. A “health reminder” showed up on their screens stating that “the game has been stopped” after a few hours of playing People are speculating that this might be an effort made by PUBG to weaken the addiction kids have on the game. An official statement regarding the same is yet to be made by the gaming company.

It was recently reported that a 20-year-old boy from Telangana died after his relentless 45-day gaming led to damage of the nerves on his neck. PUBG is an online battle royale game that gained traction soon after its PC and Xbox One launch and became a sensation when the game was released on iOS and Android devices. It is one of the most successful and popular games among young adults across the globe right now.
