Two college students who attempted to snatch a woman’s chain found themselves at the mercy of the public who thrashed them. The incident took place in Minjur on Thursday. The 20-year-old youngsters from Tondiarpet, Manikandan and Prasanth, came on a bike and attempted to snatch Gajalakshmi’s chain. The victim was a 38-year-old woman from Ramana Nagar. She had been going to pick her daughter up from school.

After the two men stole the chain, she ran behind them calling for help. Locals in the area then caught the pair immediately and thrashed them. They tied the pair up and made them kneel on the road. A video also shows that the two were beaten up by the public. Later they handed them over to the local police. The students had been engaging in snatching to make quick money and buy liquor.
