Tamil Nadu: 100-year-old woman dies one hour after 104-year-old husband's death

Barely an hour after her 104-year-old husband passed away, a 100-year-old woman collapsed and died upon hearing the news of her husband's death.
Vetrivel (104) and Pichayi (100), who hailed from the Pudukkottai district in Tamil Nadu, had been married for 75 years. When Vetrivel complained of chest pain on Monday night, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren reportedly rushed him to a hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors. When his body was brought back to the house, Pichayi cried and fell unconscious, after which she failed to respond. A local doctor checked her pulse and confirmed that she had passed away, less than an hour after her husband's death.
According to a report from a news agency, the couple is survived by six children, twenty-three grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
