Happy Birthday Vijay Sethupathi

  • IndiaGlitz, [Monday,January 16 2017]

Today the really Versatile Actor Vijay Sethupathi celebrates his 39th Birthday.

The year 2016 has been another crucial year for the actor who never cares for heroic image despite being a leading hero and a bankable commercial star. Six films with him playing the lead role released and all of them, fell under different genres. With 'Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum', 'Iraivi' and 'Aandavan Kattalai' he achieved critical acclaim while 'Sethupathi', 'Dharmadurai' and 'Rekka' elevated his status as a commercial star with their box office results. 'Dharmadurai' was one of the biggest all-class hits of the year.

The present year is also expected to be equally crucial for the actor. The films in which he has teamed up with highly acclaimed directors such as K.V.Anand in 'Kavan', Pushkar-Gayathri in 'Vikram Veda', 'Renigunta' fame Pannerselvam in 'Karuppan' and an untitled film with Thiyagarajan Kumararaja will be releasing this year one by one.

Even in these films Vijay Sethupathi has played characters that are polls apart from each other. His first release of the year will be the thriller flick 'Puriyaadha Pudhir' in which he has played a musician. In 'Kavan' slated to hit the screens in March last week, he has apparently played a role relating to the IT sector. In 'Vikram Veda' scheduled to hit the screens in Summer, he plays a aged gangster in North Chennai. 'Karuppan' will be a rural flick set in districts surrounding Madurai and in this film he reportedly plays a Jallikattu warrior. In a film titled as '96' he will be acting with top heroine Trisha for the first time. He is expected to play his real age in this film. There is no update about the Thiyagarajan Kumararaja multi-starrer but the initial pictures leaked from the shooting spot featured the 'Dharmadurai' star as a transgender.

Apart from his star value and box office status, Vijay Sethupathi possesses some highly admirable and inspirational qualities that are rarely found in Kollywood heroes. He never cares for his image and gives prominence only to the script and his character. He never ever defends his wrong selections with the name of catering to his fans and a targeted audience. That does not mean he will do only the films that have strong script and author backed role. With 'Rekka', he proved he is also ready to do a mass masala flick. He has not set any bounds for him as an actor. He does not play roles (hero or villain), he plays characters with shades of positive, negative and both. .

That only makes him play a medical college student in 'Dharmadurai' despite making audience aware about his real age with 'Soodhu Kavvum' that released four years earlier. That's why he could also do a film that is way above his age in films like 'Orange Mittai'.

This trait has made him a household name and everyone cutting across age group have an admiration for him though his fan following may be limited in numbers when compared to other stars.

IndiaGlitz wishes Vijay Sethupathi a Happy Birthday and a many more successes, achievements and awards in his film career.
