Pushpa 2 TV Ratings Fall Behind Original Films Success

Icon Star Allu Arjun made a global splash with his latest release, Pushpa 2: The Rule. Directed by Sukumar, this high-energy pan-Indian action drama became a box office sensation, collecting over ₹1800 crore worldwide. With Rashmika Mandanna reprising her role as the female lead, the film had all the right ingredients for success—and it certainly delivered.

However, its television premiere told a different story. Pushpa 2 debuted on Star Maa on April 13, 2025, and registered a TRP of 12.61. While decent, this number fell short compared to the first film, Pushpa: The Rise, which achieved an impressive 22.54 TRP. Other Allu Arjun blockbusters like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Duvvada Jagannadham also scored higher, with TRPs of 29.4 and 21.7, respectively.

The reasons behind this dip in television performance remain unclear. It might be due to audience fatigue, timing of the release, or changing TV viewing habits, but it clearly didn’t match its theater success on the small screen.

Looking forward, Allu Arjun is preparing for an upcoming project with director Atlee, currently in pre-production. The film, backed by Sun Pictures, is already generating strong buzz. Given the rising expectations and the star cast involved, fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next.
