Queen Camilla took on the more important role of her husband, King Charles III, during a major public event while he continued recuperating from cancer.

The 76-year-old was all smiles as he attended the UK's Worcester Cathedral Royal Maundy service on Thursday, March 28, stopping for pictures outside the cathedral.

She was with a general and a big crowd of people waiting outside the cathedral to cheer her on. Camilla looked cheerful in a cream coat, beige suede boots, and a matching hat in fur.

He emphasized the value of unity in his first direct public address since Princess Kate Middleton, 42, revealed her cancer diagnosis. His pre-recorded message played during the service highlighted the importance of reaching out to other people and being a friend, as Jesus had been.

Though he did not mention his daughter-in-law by name, his comments clearly reflected the global reaction to his and Kate's mental health battles.

During a visit to the Shrewsbury Farmers' Market on Wednesday, March 27, Camilla was quoted as saying she had "got it all mapped out." Adding, "she will be thrilled to bits," during a visit to the Shrewsbury Farmers' Market on Wednesday, March 27, Camilla quoted supporters standing by as they held up posters with their messages of support. Graciously accepting a rose from a well-wisher, Camilla held up a sign that read, "Send love to Kate," in another show of solidarity with her daughter-in-law.

Buckingham Palace announced that both Camilla and King Charles would be taking part in the royal family's Easter Sunday service. It will be Charles's first public appearance since announcing last month that he had cancer. Prince William and Kate are highly unlikely to make an Easter appearance in public, with their plans still unconfirmed.
