Mass Brahma indeed!

Racha is quite an unlikely album from Mani Sharma.  He revs up the album with massy tunes, but does the big one live up to the hype?  Not so much, especially if you compare the musician's previous work for Charan.  All the same, this five-song album is enjoyable for its mix of folksy beats and a hummable song.

Chandrabose, Bhuvanachandra, Suddala Ashok Teja lend their lyrical touch, not letting you down in any song, while the voices although routine, engage you with their youthfulness.

Racha

Artist: Deepu & chorus
Lyricist: Chandrabose

The song makes a good intro, though the tune sounds like a song from Chirutha.  The lyrics pack the usual dose of panegyrics for the budding star called Charan.  Mani Sharma enriches it with foot-tapping instrumentation.  Chandra Bose's lyrics come with a touch of mass.

Dillaku.. Dillaku

Artists: Tippu, Geetha Madhuri
Lyricist: Chinni Charan

The folksy beats are massed together with lyrics that speak a lot about the intrigue in romance.  Mani Sharma's tune doesn't make for humming, but the song can pep up your spirits.  Tippu is at his usual best, while Geetha Madhuri's voice makes the usual impact.

Oka Padam

Artists: Hemachandra, Malavika
Lyricist: Chandrabose

Chandrabose tries to be irreverent with the language, and Mani's music re-establishes his Melody Brahma tag.  The song is not the best of his melodies by any stretch of imagination, but it is enjoyable and it is a good listen.

Singareni Undi

Artists: Sukhwinder Singh, Sahithi
Lyricist: Suddala Ashok Teja

Complete with the beats and trumpet blows, this one is the best.  Suddala Ashok Teja's lyrics are a welcome change, and he brings a contemporary touch.  Meant for the masses, this song is foot-tapping to the core.

Vaana Vaana (Remix)

Aritsts: Rahul Nambiar, Chaitra
Lyricist: Bhuvanachandra

The remix is on the expected lines.  Needless to say, the song's popularity will depend on Cherry's dance.  Meanwhile, Mani Sharma does full justice by perking up with the right mix of instrumentation.  The voices of Rahul Nambiar and Chaitra are right.
