Radha Ravi's sexist comments on Nayanthara is continuing to receive severe backlash not only from his industry colleagues but close family members as well as his step-sister Radhika personally met him and condemned his speech.

Now Radha Ravi's step-niece Varalakshmi Sarathkumar has taken the fight against him and has issued a series of tweets in which she has also blamed the various union leaders for the slut shaming that is taking place within the industry.

Varu has stated "Shaming women,making offensive jokes on women (which they think is not offensive) degrading women, using women as eye candy have all bcom a part of this film industry thanks to our previous generations of women n men who didn’t react n instead thought it was ok..this is our state.  All these so called film Sangams r run by a bunch of male chauvinists who will never act on anything n jus act like they support women, when in reality each of them has in one way or other contributed to this situation of women being degraded either in their reel or real lives.

Varu has added "If people are finding it funny that is the kind of world we have created by degrading ourselves n keeping silent for so many years of abuse..if we don’t start respecting ourselves..we can’t expect others to respect us.. speak up now..don’t wait until it happens to you n then cry...And also to all the idiots out there who think degrading ourselves (women) means wearing revealing clothes.. that’s a personal choice of every woman and u can’t judge a woman based on her dressing.. grow up.. learn to respect a woman no matter what she wears or does..When you don’t judge a man on whatever her does no matter how unethical or wrong or terrible..or how many partners he has..nobody has the right to judge a woman either.. when u don’t feel like raping ur sister no matter what he wears learn to respect another woman too..."
