Udhayanidhi Stalin and Manjhima Mohan are the lead pair in Ippadai Vellum` directed by Gaurav and produced by Lyca Productions. The film also has Soori, R.J. Balaji and R.K. Suresh in the cast.

Radhika Sarathkumar, who plays Udhay`s mother has a challenging character of a bus driver. Even though the team said that she could just sit at the steering wheel and the rest would be taken care by special effects the seasoned actress would not listen. Radhika trained for ten days and drove the bus to perfection in the film much to the awe of the entire team. At a time when even front line heroes take minimum efforts, Radhika has set an example for the younger brigade on professionalism even when playing a small role.
