CSDS, the polling agency, has suggested that Rahul Gandhi might lose in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Smriti Irani of the BJP is likely to emerge as the winner.

Speaking to a TV channel, Sanjay Kumar of CSDS said, "In 2017 Assembly elections, BJP won 4 out of 5 Assembly constituencies in Amethi. In 2014, Irani gave a tough fight to the Congress President, who could win by a margin of 1.06 lakh votes instead of the 3 lakh majority he had got in 2009."

Irani has run a fervent campaign in Amethi to defeat Rahul since 2014. By defeating the Gandhi in the pocket borough of the Congress party, she wants to go down as a lioness in the saffron party!

Rahul now has to fall back on Wayanad in Kerala if were to indeed be snubbed by Amethi.
