Rain and Thunderstorms predicted in Chennai and Tamil Nadu

Rains have been predicted for Chennai and Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours and it would be convective in nature due to the entire state experiencing a high degree of heat. As far as Chennai is concerned it would be light showers in some parts in the evening or at night.

In the last 24 hours The Nilgiris, Theni and Kanyakumari districts have recieved upto 3 mm rainfall. Chennai is expected to have some very heavy rains and thunderstorms in the next three to four days. That should be great news for the residents of the capital as it means a rise in the water catchments.
