It is known that River Godavari has flooded many villages in Andhra Pradesh. While the impact of floods has seen a decline since Monday, the aftereffects have still been felt. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has come in for criticism from Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan over the neglect of flood relief.

In a statement on Tuesday, the actor-politician accused the YCP government of not being empathetic to the concerns of the people living in flood-affected regions. "Your responsibility doesn't vanish after you switch on the button. You need to be mindful of the effects of your decisions. Raising a voice for the affected population doesn't tantamount to a politicization of the issue," Pawan said.

Pawan said that lakhs of people living in flood-affected regions didn't get timely access to boats and other rescue operations. They didn't have access to food on a timely basis.

Even though it has been days since the flooding started, children have no access to essentials like milk. "People are living in a lurch," he added.

Alluri Sitharama Raju, Ambedkar Konaseema, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari and Eluru districts have been affected by the floods.
