ANIRUDH EXCEL

The comeback film of handsome actor Anirudh in an action cinema loaded with good sentiments, comedy, and romance in ‘Raja Simha’ is worth watching. Anirudh has given an all rounder performance. He excel in action for the first time, apt in comedy scenes and romantic with two heroines plus emotional when it comes to mother character played by Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana in the film ‘Raja Simha’.

The highpoint of debutant director Ravi Ram is his idea of clubbing the portions of Dr Vishnuvardhana ‘Simhadriya Simha’ Narasimhe Gowda role in to this film. The protagonist is projected as his son. The portion of Narasimhe Gowda lifts the strength of the film to a different level. Producer CD Basappa has not fallen short in giving production values and also appears in a small role in the film ‘Raja Simha’.

What is ‘Raja Simha’ all about? The protagonist is Yuvaraj son of NGO in charge Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana. He is Yuvaraja. He has great concern for the woes of the people. In one of the circumstances Pallavi (Nikita Tukral) to escape from a comedy piece Bullet Prakash pretend as Yuvaraja lover. The handsome Yuvaraj in fact falls in love with the beauty of Pallavi.

When Pallavi moves to her father place Simhadri, Yuvaraja follows her. Pallavi caution Yuvaraja that he is in the den of wrong elements in Simhadri. On knowing the choice of her son Pallavi, mother of Yuvaraj is shocked because she hails from Simhadri village that has a horrible story of the past.

Yuvaraja learns the past of his life and the flashback of Narasimhe Gowda (Dr Vishnuvardhana) open up. Simhadri is the village where Yuvaraja is born and brought to city by his mother after killing of his father Narasimhe Gowda by Rudre Gowda. In Simhadri and surrounding villages Rudre Gowda (Sharat Lohitashva) rules in the most cunning way. People are not happy because of criminal mind of Rudre Gowda. Stepping in to this house is the biggest task of Yuvaraja.

As a geologist Yuvaraja comes to Simhadri. He studies the situations slowly. He gets the support of a government official played by Sanjana Galrani. The progressive work of Yuvaraja worries Rudre Gowda. He wants to put an end to Yuvaraja ideals. How Yuvaraja comes out from the clutches of Rudre Gowda is the climax chilling action portion in the film.

Anirudh has prepared well in physique for this film. He looks well built compared to his previous films. He has performed with ease in talkie portions, when it comes to comedy he has a cake walk. He has two romantic numbers in this film. One with Sanjana Galrani a hot song was unexpected.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana is compact in her role. Bullet Prakash brings relief in comedy. Dr Ambarish as a graceful presence, Sharat Lohitashva and Arun Sagar strikes as baddies in the film.

Three songs of this film are beautifully composed by Jassie Gift, the opening song for Anirudh introduction is powerfully worded. KM Vishnuvardhana as cameraman has given a decent look for the eyes.

The costume of Keerthivardhana is what reminds the days of Dr Vishnuvardhana. As daughter she has done costume designing for number of Dr Vishnuvardhana films. She continues the profession for her husband Anirudh in this film.

First time director Ravi Ram has done a great job in giving a commercial entertainer and no doubt Dr Vishnuvardhana haunts very much in this film.
