Rajamouli thanks Bollywood producers for a key decision

'Gangubai Kathiawadi', the Hindi-language film, has been taken out from the January first week race. The Alia Bhatt-starrer was supposed to hit the screens on January 6 next year, just a day ahead of 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram'. SS Rajamouli and DVV Danayya made a request to the producers of the film to move the film away so that the Jr NTR-Ram Charan movie can be the solo release. And the makers have accepted the request by postponing the release of 'GK' to February 18.

On Monday, the 'Baahubali' director took to Twitter to thank the producers. The decision by Mr. Jayantilal Gada and Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali to move the release date is well appreciated. Our heartfelt wishes to 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', Rajamouli wrote. Bhansali is also the film's director.

'GK', which completed its shoot months ago, has Alia Bhatt in the role of a mafia queen. Alia is also Ram Charan's heroine in 'RRR', which releases on January 7.

Coming to 'RRR', its huge release is nearing day after day. The film will be a solo pre-Sankranthi release, with 'Radhe Shyam' joining the race a week later.
