Rajamouli's 'Varanasi' Goes Global: Set for Comic Con Mexico 2026 Showcase

After redefining Indian cinema on the global stage with blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR, visionary filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli is now gearing up for his next ambitious project, Varanasi. Positioned as a grand action-adventure, the film is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Indian releases in recent years.

Headlined by Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Varanasi promises a powerful blend of scale, star power, and Rajamouli’s signature storytelling. The film has generated massive buzz ever since its announcement, with fans eagerly awaiting updates.

Taking this excitement beyond Indian shores, Varanasi is all set to be showcased at Comic Con Experience Mexico 2026. The film will feature in an exclusive panel on April 24 at the Thunder Stage, marking a significant step in its global outreach.

Producer S. S. Karthikeya will present a special segment titled “Varanasi to the World,” offering fans a deeper look into the making of the film. The session will include a video message from Rajamouli, along with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. A live interaction segment is also planned, giving audiences a rare chance to engage directly with the team.

Even ahead of its theatrical release, Varanasi has already begun making waves internationally. Its first glimpse was unveiled at the prestigious Le Grand Rex in Europe, where it received a thunderous response, with audiences erupting into applause and cheers from the very first visuals.

Adding to the growing hype, the makers have revealed striking first looks of the lead characters Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini. These glimpses have taken social media by storm, further amplifying anticipation.

With expectations soaring, Varanasi is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027, promising yet another cinematic spectacle from Rajamouli.
