Case filed against Pa Ranjith!

In a recently held event, director Pa Ranjith of Madras, Kabali and Kaala fame had spoken about the rule of Chola King Rajaraja Chola and on how his tenure was the dark phase of Tamil Nadu, where a lot of lands were seized from people. Following this speech, there was huge outrage against the director.

After huge anger and reactions from netizens, now a police complaint was filed and a case has been registered against the director. In the Thirupanandhal police station in Tanjore, a case has been filed against the director for inciting caste, religious and racial feelings and for provoking violence.

Earlier, the video where the director spoke of lands being grabbed in the Chola rule, and women being made Devadasis, and the director urging people to voice out and join to get back the lands, turned viral. Currently the director is producing several movies, and is working on his Bollywood debut, the biopic of Birsa Munda.
