Yesterday, we described the satellite rights deal that Lyca Productions has struck with Zee TV as the 'grandmother of all satellite deals'. '2.0', proving Rajinikanth's colossal stamina, got sold for Rs. 110 Cr for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions.

The Superstar's die-hard fans are happy that this humongous deal is a 'dangal' on Aamir Khan's superstardom. The satellite rights of 'Dangal', which is arguably one of the biggest hits ever, were sold for Rs. 75 Cr. And the Shankar magnum opus has pipped this record by a whopping Rs. 35 Cr.

To be sure, the deal was to be a behemoth because it has two stars with a pan-Indian image: Rajini and Akshay Kumar. But nobody expected that the deal would be this monumental.
