As we all know Kalaipuli S.Thanu is producing two films simultaneously and both of them are super big projects. One is 'Kabali' with Superstar Rajinikanth and the other is 'Theri' with Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The former is being directed by Pa.Ranjith while Atlee is wielding the megaphone for the latter.

Earlier it was reported that 'Kabali' will release on Tamil New Years day that is April 14, 2016 as it is considered to be a lucky day of release for Rajinikanth. 'Theri' which was commenced much earlier and would be completed earlier was scheduled for May 1 release.

But now there seems to be an exact reversal of release plans. The climax fight, shoot of 'Theri' is currently taking place in Chennai and the shoot is expected to be completed within the first fortnight of January. However Rajinikanth has started acting for '2.0' directed by Shankar and he is expected to return to the 'Kabali' set only in January and there seems to be 45 days of shoot pending for the film.

Kollywood sources say that the latest position of the production house is that 'Theri' has been confirmed to hit the screens on April 14 and plans are afoot to release 'Kabali' on May 1, 2016 which will be Ajith birthday.

We will have to wait for official confirmation before drawing any conclusion.
