Rajinikanths lawyer decides to withdraw petition after High Courts warning

It's known that Superstar Rajinikanth recently approached the Madras High Court seeking exemption from the property tax of Rs 6.5 lakh levied by the Chennai Municipal Corporation on his Raghavendhra Marriage Hall situated in Kodambakkam. In his petition, the legendary actor's counsel argued that the marriage hall has not been given for rent for the past six months due to the coronavirus lockdown and hence has not had any income.

Disposing the petition on Wednesday, the HC slammed the advocate advising not to waste the time of the court with such petitions. He pointed out that property tax has nothing to with income.

Rajini's counsel then withdrew the petition after the judge warned that this case could attract penalties from the court.

On the professional front, Rajini has completed 50% of shoot of his upcoming movie 'Annaathe' directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sun Pictures.
