Rajinikanth not remaking Bhaskar-The Rascal

The news that Superstar Rajinikanth is doing a remake of the Malayalam family-comedy entertainer Bhaskar-The Rascal has been denied by well-placed sources. The reports that Rajini will reprise Mammooty's role, while Nayanatara will be retained to play the female lead's role have been denied.
The spark to the news came when Siddique, the director of the original, reportedly told a Malayalam news site about the possibility of Rajini doing the film in the event of everything going well.
Far from doing the film, Rajini is most likely to remake Shivarajkumar's Shivalinga after he has been done with Kabali as has been reported. Since Rajini will be busy with the current commitments for the next one year or so, there is no possibility of remaking Bhaskar-The Rascal in near future by him. It has to be seen if the film will be pocketed by some other big star in Tamil or Telugu! Any bets on Kamal Haasan?
