Rajinikanth refuses to say sorry, BJP MP offers legal help

Recently at a media event, Superstar Rajinikanth said that the idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita were paraded in an offensive manner at an 'anti-superstition' rally led by Periyar in Tamil Nadu's Salem in 1971. A police complaint was later lodged against the 'Darbar' actor by Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam for "mouthing the blatant lie" relating to the Tamil social reformer.

Earlier today, Rajini said that he will not apologize despite the police complaint. "I did not utter fiction. There are published stories in the media on the incident. I can show them. I will not apologize," the wannabe politician said.

With Rajini refusing to say sorry, BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy has offered legal help. "For a change, I am on the side of Rajnikanth on the issue. This is a fact and Cho Ramaswamy had published it in his magazine, 'Thuglak'. If the cine actor stays firm, I will back him in courts if he wants," Swamy tweeted out today.
