At the 24th National Convention of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held in Madurai, actor Sasikumar shared his experience of working in director Raju Murugan's film. He stated, "I am currently acting in a movie directed by Raju Murugan. Every word and line he writes speaks of communism. This courage is found in every communist."
Sasikumar added, "Two films that deeply influenced me with their humanity are 'Ayothi' and 'Nandhan'. It was because of 'Nandhan' that I was invited to this event. In a way, these films echoed communist values, and I was proud to convey those messages through them."
He also recalled that after watching 'Nandhan', Comrade Balakrishnan praised his performance by inviting him to the CPI(M) office in Chennai. "I can't forget that appreciation. He told me how the film raised issues that are often ignored, such as people preventing local leaders from hoisting the party flag. Our comrades are resisting such acts, and through the film, that message reached the masses."
Sasikumar concluded by saying, "That appreciation helped me reach this stage today. Communism always supports the arts. People labeled me a communist just for being simple. If that's the case, perhaps I am a communist too."
