Rākāsā Seals Big Telugu Deal Ahead of Release, Expands Global Reach

The upcoming fantasy-comedy entertainer Rākāsā is building solid momentum ahead of its theatrical release, locking a significant distribution deal in the Telugu market. The film’s theatrical rights for the Telugu States have been acquired by Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Movie Makers in a high-value agreement, reflecting strong confidence from trade circles.

This deal marks a key milestone in the film’s release strategy, as the makers gear up for a wide-scale rollout. Alongside its domestic distribution, Rākāsā is also planning an extensive overseas release. Atharvana Bhadrakali Pictures will handle international distribution, targeting more than 350 screens across major territories including the US, UK, Europe, Canada, and Australia. Key overseas markets like North America and the UK will be managed by Prathyangira Cinemas, with premieres scheduled for April 2, 2026—one day ahead of the global release.

On the non-theatrical front, the film has secured strong partnerships, further boosting its commercial prospects. Streaming giant Netflix has acquired the digital rights, while Saregama Music has bagged the audio rights, adding weight to the film’s overall business ecosystem.

The promotional content of Rākāsā has also been witnessing encouraging traction online. The title glimpse has crossed 1.9 million views, while the teaser has surpassed 2.8 million views. The first single “Rapappa” has garnered over 1.1 million views, and the second single “Padhe Padhe” has also crossed the 1 million mark, indicating a positive response to the film’s music album.

Starring Sangeeth Sobhan in the lead alongside Nayan Sarika, the film blends romance, comedy, and fantasy elements. The supporting cast includes Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Getup Srinu. The film is written and directed by Manasa Sharma, known for her work on Oka Chinna Family Story and Bench Life.

Technically, Rākāsā brings together a strong crew, with Anudeep Dev composing the music, Raju Edurolu handling cinematography, and Anwar Ali taking care of editing. The film is produced by Niharika Konidela under Pink Elephant Pictures in association with Zee Studios, with Umesh Kumar Bansal as producer.
