It is difficult being in Rambha's shoes these days. The one-time beautiful actress cuts a forlorn figure now. She has no major roles in films and does only item numbers these days.

Further she is also embroiled in a cheque-bounce case.

Rambha, however, denies reports that she has cheated a producer (Manickam Narayanan) of several lakhs of rupees and her involvement in the cheque-bounce case.

Charging Manickam Narayanan with trying to tarnish her image by spreading false news, Rambha say "I took a loan to the tune of Rs 25 lakh from him a few years ago and gave as security my property worth Rs two crore, located at Mount Road in Chennai. I had even given a few blank cheques then keeping faith in him".

It is here that the matter seems to have turned sour.

Adds Rambha: "Though I repaid a major portion of the loan, Manickam Narayanan did not hand over the property back to me and utilizing the 'power of attorney' I gave to him, he registered the property in his name.

Coming to know about this, I filed a case in the court and obtained a temporary injection last year."

Rambha says Narayanan must have taken umbrage at this.

"Peeved at this, Narayanan, using the blank cheques given by me, has now come out with cheque bounce case. Though I took efforts to sort out the issue through negotiations, he threatened me."

She also denied reports that she had left Chennai once for all and settled in Mumbai.
