The much-anticipated sequel to Jailer, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson, has officially kicked off its second shooting schedule in Coimbatore and areas near the Kerala border.
In an exciting development, actress Mirnaa Menon—who played the daughter-in-law of Rajini’s character “Tiger Muthuvel Pandian” in the first film—has rejoined the cast of Jailer 2. Joining her is veteran actress Ramya Krishnan, who portrayed Muthuvel Pandian’s wife in the original.
Ramya Krishnan confirmed her return through an Instagram post, where she also shared a touching moment of nostalgia. She revealed that her return to the Jailer 2 set coincided with the 26th anniversary of Padaiyappa, her iconic film with Rajinikanth—a coincidence that made the day all the more special. Her post has since gone viral, thrilling fans of both films.
The sequel is being produced by Sun Pictures with music composed by Anirudh. S.J. Suryah has reportedly joined the cast in a leading role, while Yogi Babu will reprise his role as the quirky taxi driver from the first installment.
With familiar faces returning and new ones joining the team, Jailer 2 is shaping up to be a powerful follow-up to the original blockbuster.
