Ranabaali: Vijay Deverakonda Unveils Fierce Rebel Avatar in Epic Period Action Drama

Vijay Deverakonda has reunited with director Rahul Sankrityan for an ambitious period action drama. Living up to their promise, the makers officially unveiled the film’s title today along with a striking glimpse that has instantly sparked intense buzz.

Titled Ranabaali, the film marks Vijay Deverakonda’s 14th outing as a lead actor. Set in pre-Independence India, the story revolves around a brutal and largely forgotten genocide that claimed the lives of lakhs of Indians. The glimpse hints at a raw, emotionally charged narrative steeped in courage, rebellion, and sacrifice.

Vijay Deverakonda is seen in a never-before-seen avatar, portraying a fearless rebel who rises against British oppression. His rugged screen presence and revolutionary undertone suggest one of the most intense performances of his career. Adding to the film’s appeal, Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, reuniting with Vijay Deverakonda for this high-profile project.

International actor Arnold Vosloo, widely known for his villainous roles in The Mummy series, essays the role of the ruthless British officer Sir Theodore Hector, promising a formidable on-screen antagonist.

Describing Ranabaali as a “hidden chapter of history that must be told,” the makers are mounting the film on a massive scale. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the project also boasts music by the celebrated Ajay–Atul duo, further raising expectations.

Ranabaali is slated for a grand theatrical release on September 11, 2026, and is already being touted as one of the most ambitious and hard-hitting period films in Indian cinema.
