'Rangoon' slated to release on September 30

The much awaited and talked about movie Rangoon' will release on September 30. It is Vishal Bhardwaj's periodic love story that features actor Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut in the lead. This movie is produced by big name and banner Sajid Nadiadwala, Vishal Bhardwaj and Viacom18 Motion Pictures. It will also have ace writer Gulzar as the lyricist.
During an interview with a leading daily, Kangana spoke about the movie and said, "It is a film which is set in the 1940s during the World War II. It is about three characters and one of them is a superstar and her mentor, who she is romantically involved with. Another one is a soldier. It is about INA, independence and so many other things. It is a very passionate love story."
Bhardwaj is not only directing the film, but also giving the music for it. His earlier two movies 'Haider' and 'Talvar', which he produced, were critically acclaimed. Since both the movies released on Gandhi Jayanti week of October 2, so the makers decided to continue the practice by opting for the Gandhi Jayanti week.
