Rashmika Mandanna, often called the "national crush," has been signing multiple Hindi films recently. Her roles in "Pushpa" and "Animal" boosted her stardom, but she has also faced trolling. The latest controversy arose from her recent statement claiming to be from Hyderabad.
Her new film "Chhaava" was released and received a positive response. However, during its promotion in Bollywood, Rashmika said, “I am from Hyderabad,” which upset her Kannada fans. Many criticized her for seemingly trying to impress the Telugu audience while ignoring her roots in Karnataka.
Several Kannada fans expressed disappointment, reminding her of her origins. However, some supported her, stating that she currently resides in Hyderabad, which justifies her statement. Rashmika started her career in Kannada cinema with five films before moving to Telugu and Hindi projects since 2021.
In "Chhaava," Rashmika played the role of Maharani Yesubai.
