Tollywood is reeling from another heartbreaking loss. Just days after the demise of veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, the industry has been struck with fresh grief—actor Ravi Teja’s father, Bhupatiraju Rajagopal Raju, passed away on Tuesday night (July 15, 2025) at the age of 90 due to age-related health issues.
According to publicists, Rajagopal Raju breathed his last at Ravi Teja’s residence in Hyderabad. The news has come as a huge shock to the family, friends, and fans of the actor. Social media platforms were flooded with condolences from followers, colleagues, and well-wishers expressing their sympathy and support for Ravi Teja and his family during this difficult time.
Rajagopal Raju was a pharmacist by profession and led a humble, low-profile life in Hyderabad, away from the public eye. Despite his son’s immense popularity in the Telugu film industry, both Rajagopal and his wife Rajya Lakshmi preferred to stay away from media attention and rarely made public appearances.
He is survived by his wife, Rajya Lakshmi, and two sons—Ravi Teja and Raghu Raju. His other son, Bharath Raju, tragically passed away in a car accident a few years ago.
Details regarding the funeral and cremation are still awaited.
Meanwhile, Ravi Teja, who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Mass Jathara, has taken a brief break from work to perform the final rites for his father. The film, scheduled for release on August 27, has completed its shooting and is currently in post-production.
