Yesterday the hot topic in Kollywood was why music director Anirudh is not a part of Dhanush's production venture 'Kodi' in which he acts in dual roles for the first time. Dhanush had announced yesterday that Santosh Narayanan will score music for this film directed by Durai Senthilkumar.

Since his entry with the film '3', Anirudh has been scoring music for all the films solely produced by Wunderbar Films of Dhanush (except 'Kaaka Muttai' which was produced by Dhanush and Vetrimaran). This includes ''Ethineechal' and 'Kaakki Sattai' directed by Durai Senthilkumar.

Now Anirudh has been replaced with Santosh Narayanan. The 'Kabali' composer is likely to be retained for director Vetrimaran's ambitious project 'Vada Chennai' with Dhanush and Samantha in lead roles which will begin later this year.

This has lead to widespread speculations of an apparent rift between Dhanush and Anirudh who are relatives and also known to be close friends.

Sources close to Dhanush have said that there was no such rift. Dhanush wanted to complete 'Kodi' in a span of two months and release it around Ramzan, 2016.

Anirudh who had visited Canada in December for a concert has still not returned to India, the team had to opt for another music director and Santhosh Narayanan was approached who readily agreed to be a part of the film as he was keen to work with Dhanush.

The shooting of 'Kodi' commenced yesterday in Chennai. The film will have Trisha and Shamlee as female leads.
