'Remo' is Excellent, 'Rekka' and 'Devi' settle for Good

This Aayudha Pooja weekend saw the release of three Tamil films: Sivakarthikeyan's 'Remo', VIjay Sethupathi' s' 'Rekka' and Prabhu Deva's 'Devi'. All the three films have been performing well at the box office and made decent to good collections on the first day of release.

Now IndiaGlitz brings you the analysis on the performance on these three films in Chennai Box office performance on the first weekend between October 7 to October 9.

Sivakarthikeyan's 'Remo' that released amid huge expectations in enormous number of screens across the world sustains its golden run at the box office. The film had collected Rs.51 lakhs in Chennai alone while the over all collections came close to a whopping Rs.8 crores on the first day.

In the next two days the film has collected more. Overall weekend collections of this Bakkiyaraj Kannan directorial is close to Rupees One Crore and 75 Lakhs in Chennai ( Rs.1,74,24,980). This has been achieved with 384 shows across 23 screens in Chennai distribution area.

This is categorized as an 'Excellent Opening' by trade sources.

Vijay Sethupathi's 'Rekka' that has been getting mixed reviews is also performing well at the Chennai BO mainly due to the impression created by the ;lead actor with his slew of previous films and also the weekend and festival holiday mood.

In its first three days the film has collected Rs.65,90,180. with 218 shows across 21 screens in Chennai with 85% occupancy.

With this 'Rekka' directed by Rathna Siva has achieved a 'Good Opening' status.

Prabhu Deva-Tamannah starrer 'Devi' that released with a relatively low expectations and less number of screens is all set to become a sleeper hit due to phenomenal positive word of mouth it has generated on the first day. Due to encouraging reviews coming from all critics and audiences the film has achieved a 'Good Opening' at Chennai Box Office in its first three days.

The Vijay directorial has collected Rs.41,77,420 from 148 shows of 13 screens across Chennai with a decent 85% occupancy on an average in its first three days.

This is not the complete opening status as the weekend holidays are going to continue for the next three days of the week with consecutive festival holidays. All the three films are set to enjoy houseful run in the next three days also.
